The two major political parties in Ghana, NPP, and NDC, have been advised to stop the incessant and deliberate attacks on commissioners of the electoral Commission and be seen as agents to safeguard institutions in the country.
Strong and protected institutions in every country are seen as the foundation for which countries thrive.
It’s upon this very clarion call that, the Dean of the Ghana Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Dr. Vladimir Antwi-Danso, is urging these two political parties to desist from venting attacks on institutions and their leaders.
He said the recurring attacks by these parties on the commissioners of our electoral body, from Dr. Afari Gyan, Mrs. Charlotte Osei, and the current commissioner, Madam Jean Mensah, is uncalled for and must be stopped.
He intimated that, even though the actions of the commissioners can be questioned, it must not be done unnecessarily just by the mere fact he/she was appointed by a different political regime.
Dr. Antwi Danso in an interview with Kwaku Stephen added that Ghana’s electoral process is revered and we must be seen protecting it and its qualified commissioners.
