Ghana Health Service (GHS), have disclosed that, three regions in Ghana Greater Accra Region, Upper East and North East have being detected with poliomyelitis.
According to GHS, many measure like educating the public on poliomyelitis in this affected regions to help eliminate polio from Ghana.
For more than a decade Ghana has enjoyed polio free until last July and August this year Agbogloshie, Kyereponi and Tamale.
Speaking at the launched of polio vaccination campaign at Abgogloshie in Odododiodio Constituency in Greater Accra region, the Director General of Ghana Health Service Dr. Nsia Asare said the polio vaccination will start in Greater Accra region from today till 14 September 2019.
He said the exercise is free of charge and the vaccine is not contaminated with any disease but will help prevent our children.
Dr. Nsiah Asare said children below five (5) years are the targeted one for this exercise polio vaccination exercise.
