The Hon. Deputy Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources who is also the member of Parliament for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah, has confirmed that, eight hundred thousand (800,000) people in the Northern Part of the country are going to be supplied with quality drinking water.
Speaking with Oman Fm Parliamentary correspondent Nana Ampofo Ayeh, Mr. Yaw Boamah revealed government commitment in providing quality water for all Ghanaian citizens as promised during the 2016 campaign.
He made this remarks after Parliament gave out an approval to a loan agreement facility of $272 million dollars to carry out water project in supplying water to the people living in Tamale, Damango, Yapei, Nanton, Savelugu, Kumbungu in order to save them from other illness that could be contracted through unclean or poor quality water.
Mr. Boamah added that, the program will take place after the developmental stages are completed, which is about six months from now.
