For a violence free general elections in December 2020 in the country, especially in the Ashanti region, the Ghana Police Service has assured all citizens, that they protect all, ensure sanity and deal with those who will take the law into their hands and cause destruction before, during and after the election.
Commenting on the police preparedness towards this year’s elections, the Ashanti Regional Police Command under the leadership of COP Akwasi Ampofo Duku has cautioned that, the police will use the law to deal with those who will misbehave in the region before during and after the 2020 general election.
COP Akwasi Ampofo Duku stated this during the official commissioning of Atimatim Tabuo police station in Afigya Kwabre South in the Ashanti region.
The Ashanti regional Minister, Hon Simon Osei Mensah, who graced the occasion elaborated on how important security is, in the life of ordinary Ghanaians.
According to him, without security there will be no peace of mind to carry daily activities.
The Member of Parliament for Afigya Kwabre South who also doubles as Deputy Minister of Energy, William Owuraku Aidoo assured the citizens in the area that NPP government is on course to facilitate more developments under better governance.
He assured that govt will see to the provision of infrastructure especially, improving the road network to the benefit of commuters.
The District Chief Executive for Afigya Kwabre South Christian Adu Poku for his part commended the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo for giving them their share of the national cake in terms of development.
The chief of Nkwantakese Nana Boakye Yaw Ababio who spoke on behalf of Nananom used the opportunity to called on his fellow chiefs to make lands available for development which is critical for the community’s development.
