Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Paul Amoah sealed another gold in track and field events for Ghana at the ongoing African Games after winning the final of the men’s 200m event.

Joe Paul finished first in his race with a time of 20.70 seconds, becoming the first Ghanaian since Ohene Karikari in 1973 to win gold in the event.

He beat competition from Emmanuel Claude Itounue Bongogne ( 20.74 seconds) of Cameroon and Nigeria’s Consider Ekanem (20.80 seconds).

It was also the first gold for Ghana’s track athletes after winning silver and bronze respectively in the 4x100m relay finals in the men’s and women’s event.

Fuseini Ibrahim, who also made the final, finished in fourth place.
