The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Center (GIPC) Yoofi Grant has revealed that talks are underway for Malta’s national airline to commence flying to Ghana in the second quarter of 2020.

The GIPC boss disclosed this information at the second Ghana and Malta Business Forum in Accra which is aimed at fostering bilateral trade opportunities for Ghana and Malta.

According to Yoofi Grant, the AirMalta which was ranked the fifth best in Europe 2017 is readying to fly to Ghana as it looks forward to expanding its Africa reach. He explained that, the Malta airline when launched in Ghana will provide a faster entry into Europe from Ghana.

AirMalta is the flag carrier airline of Malta, with its headquarters in Luqa and its hub at the Malta international airport. It operates services to destination in Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
Yoofi Grant further called for a strong thriving and mutually beneficial collaboration between Ghanaian and Maltese businesses to take advantage of opportunities in each other’s country.

On his part Head of Projects and Internationalization at the Malta Chamber of Commerce Lino Mintoff says Malta has its arms wide opened to doing business with Ghana.

Speaking to the media at the second Ghana-Malta Business Forum in Accra, Mintoff said his outfit is interested in enhancing the collaboration between companies of businesses in both countries.
Mintoff also indicated that the Malta Chamber of Commerce is prepared to share with Ghana its strides in technology as well as project management.

He further urged Ghanaian companies to take advantage of the new impetus given to Ghana-Maltese relations by the reciprocal high-level visits and invest in Malta.

Ghana and Malta have signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) for the establishment of partnerships between the two countries. The agreements between the governments of Ghana and Malta are on medicine, bilateral air services, , tourism amongst others.
