The Deputy Minister for Energy, Owuraku Aidoo, has praised President Nana Akufo Addo for being very intelligent in allowing the oil block that no one wanted to work on, to be given to Aker Energy to develop.
The Deputy Minister said the well is very deep and no company wants to come around it because exploration is very expensive.
He said since 2013/2014 that the Parliament of Ghana passed a law for exploration on the well, no company has been able to work at the site because the well is very deep and will cost a lot to develop.
Owuraku Aidoo said Aker Energy is very eager to work on the well as soon as the deal is finalised and it will benefit the nation to do that.
He said Ghana will definitely be the beneficiary in the end.
