A National day of praying and fasting has been declared in response to the fight against Coronavirus in the state.

This was formally announced during the Nations Address, where the President, Nana Akufo-Addo urged people of all religions and background across the country to Participate.

Prior to this announcement, President Akufo-Addo, on Thursday March 18, 2020 met with some members of the christian Community to pray for the nation. The Vice- President also met up with the Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuku Sharubutu, along with other high profile Muslim leaders last Friday, to also observe a prayer for the country.

Prtesident Akufo-Addo, during his address added that with the increasing cases of localized infections, it is important Ghanaians maintain strict self-discipline to help minimize the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, the country’s recorded cases of Covid 19 have increased to 52 with two deaths. All 50 are receiving treatment in isolation.
