The Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Kwaku Asomah Cheremeh has sent a strong signal to all mining communities that all minerals within the jurisdiction of the nation is a property of the state and not for the communities hence they have no legal powers to restrain government from mining within such catchment areas if all due process are done.

According to the Minister, if government ensures that all mining companies perform their social responsibilities to the communities to which they mine,no individual will be allowed to sack mining investors from the country. He cautioned that the laws of the nation is still active to deal with any individual who threatens to prevent a duly certified mining company from it community.

He explained that the Osubeng incident is an unfortunate one and to avoid blood shedding today he peacefully left the community for peace to reign.

He further stated that his outfit will come down to the community level to know all their grievances with regards to mining and deal with it appropriately.

He made this comments today, after he was forced out of Osubeng community within the Kwahu South District as part of his 6 days tour to mining communities within the Eastern Region.
