The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Benito Owusu Bio has asked the Ghana Geological Survey Authority to explore other minerals sources other than gold to assist in the mineral diversification of the mining industry.

He stated that as a means to boost our economy,there will be a need for the geological survey to explore further for more discoveries.

Speaking at the inauguration of a nine member board of the Geological Survey Authority in Accra, Mr. Owusu Bio said with the recent earth tremor, the authority must cautiously engage communities prone to such tremors geo-hazard of the country and how to instigate it impact.

Board Chairman of the Ghana Geological Survey Authority, Philip Oduro Amoako said one key focus of the board is explore other mineral sources in the country, making the authority the center of excellence in Africa.
