The Ministry of Information in Collaboration with Bono East Regional Cordinating Council today held a town hall meeting in it’s regional capital Techiman.

The Town Hall Meeting, aims at creating avenues for deepening democracy and offering accountability by government to its citizens at the district levels while offering opportunities for open interactions between government officials and the people.

Chiefs, Traditional Leaders, Religious Leaders, Heads of Departments and Agencies, students of various Tertiary Institutions in the Region, students in second cycle institutions, Media Houses and Security Service Personnel were assembled for the event.

In a speech delivered at the function, the Minister for Employment and Labour Relations, Hon Ignatius Baffour Awuah said government is working around the clock to secure jobs for the Ghanaian youth whilst reducing unemployment to its barest minimum.

He said due to counter-measures taken by this government on labour related issues, strike actions are gradually becoming a thing of the past.
