The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that the transfer of votes and replacement of lost or defaced ID cards will begin today, Tuesday, October 3, 2023.

The process will last for seven days and the public is urged to take advantage of this period to make any necessary changes.

EC Deputy Chair in Charge of Corporate Services, Dr. Bossman Asare has encouraged eligible voters to visit their district offices to transfer their votes or replace their ID cards if necessary.

He also stated that the replacement of ID cards will continue indefinitely from Monday to Friday at district offices, as long as the applicant provides evidence of payment.

The EC has provided a shortcode *222*1067# for applicants to make payment and follow the prompts. This announcement comes as the country prepares for the upcoming general election.
