The government has declared Wednesday (28 June), as a statutory public holiday to mark the Eid-ul-Adha.
Eid-ul-Adha is an annual Muslim festival marking the end of the pilgrimage to Mecca. Animals are sacrificed and their meat is shared among the poor.
“The general public is hereby informed that Wednesday 28 June 2023 which marks Eid-ul-Adha, is a statutory public holiday and should be observed as such throughout the country,” a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior said.
