RB Leipzig managing director Oliver Mintzlaff has once again ruled out selling Josko Gvardiol to Chelsea or anyone else before the deadline.

Reports emerged late on Tuesday night claiming Chelsea were trying again to sign the centre-back in this window but leave him on loan at Leipzig until 2023.

But managing director Oliver Mintzlaff has told Sky Germany that the player will stay this season and “most likely” in the 2023-24 season as well.

Gvardiol has a contract with Leipzig until 2026.

Mintzlaff said:  “I can confirm that Josko will play with us this season and very likely next.”

He also confirmed to German newspaper Bild: “We assume that he will play with us not only this season, but also next season.”
