Yomoransa Police station has in custody Kennedy Arthur a man who claims to work at the office of Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, the member of parliament for Assin Central for allegedly defrauding 50-year-old Agnes Abban a farmer of Assin Dadieso.

Speaking with Nap Radio News Reporter Nana Ama Aboagyewaa, Chief Inspector Liberty Kwabla who is the station officer at Yamoransa Police station stated that the suspect was arrested at the Yomoransa station by the complainant and was handed over to the police.

According to Theresa Boafo a daughter of the complainant, the suspect Kennedy Arthur called her mother on Tuesday 18 May 2021 that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has secured an immigration slot for his son at a charge of 5000 Ghana cedis which the mother paid. The suspect however called the mother to top up the amount with 1500 which they negotiated till they agreed on 1000.

He then told them to meet him and hand over the money to him with his certificate and other documents at Yomoransa- Takoradi station.

She suspected that her mother was being scammed and decided to go with the brother to meet the suspect.  Interrogating the suspect,  she sensed something fishy.

She sought the help of those around to arrest him and handed him to the police

Speaking to Nap Radio News, the complainant narrated the suspect couldn’t mention his rank after they appeared at the immigration training school.
