Football Administrator and Former Managing Director of Accra Hearts of Oak, Neil Armstrong Mortagbe has asked Ghanaians, on behalf of Mubarak Wakaso, to forgive the Jiangsu Suning midfielder for his “NPP-NDC influence in Black Stars” comments.

Mr Armstrong praised the midfielder for his boldness to recognize and accept his faults in that comments and asking for forgiveness from whoever it affected.

In an interview with Oman FM Sports Dairy show, Neil believes Wakaso did the “honourable” thing to eat the humble pie to withdraw that statement.

“Looking at the contributions and commitment that Mubarak has shown in the Black Stars, I think Ghanaians should forgive him,” Neil said.
“He realized that (his comments) and came out to apologize wilfully.

“A lot of times in similar situations, others would have been hesitant to apologize by giving out explanations and permutation to justify themselves,” he added.

Mubarak Wakaso won two man of the match at the AFCON Egypt2019.
