The Sefwi Wiawso Forestry Manager, Mr. Obeng Boamah has tasked Ghanaians to support the progress of the government initiative Green Ghana project to accomplish.

The manager noted that, the project will enhance the growth of degraded forests and the regain of the ozone layer.

In an interview with the press, Mr. Boamah narrated that the 2022 activity of the project will see a massive facelift compared to the previous year since there has been a magnificent upsurge in the target given to the various MMDAs under the supervision of the forest commission.

“The Sefwi Wiawso forest district has about four hundred thousand targets to achieve. Last year we planted five million seedlings nationwide, but due to our stakeholders who have shown massive encouragement, we have increased it to twenty million,” he said.

Mr. Boamah added,” We are calling on individuals, churches, mosques and other stakeholders to walk freely to our office for the seedlings. This is a progressive project by the forestry commission. Perhaps we are urging all and sundry to join hands to ensure the improvement of the project’’.

In addition, he applauded the Nananom for giving the project massive support, especially in the Sefwi Wiawso Municipality.

“We cannot do this without the support of the Nananom, we are grateful for their consistent support all the time, we are pleading with them to always do us a favor and support the growth of the country”.
