The Majority Leader, Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has explained to Ghanaians the reality on the new Parliamentary chamber.

He said, the decision for putting up the edifice has nothing to do with the Executive and solely a decision by the Parliamentary Board for which he is a member.

He added that, the 450 capacity chamber is only a proposed idea which is now going through a finalization process by the Board and can not even tell the budget for it.

Mr. Bonsu further explained that, the 450 seater chamber is meant only for Members of Parliament, but also for state VIPs (Ex-Presidents, Chief Justice and others)

The Leader, gave all these explanation in Parliament when the leadership through the Public Affairs organized a press briefing with the Parliamentary Press Corps to give out information about the proposed Parliamentary chamber.

Majority Leader, finally concluded it all by saying, they will drop the idea for putting up a new Parliamentary chamber if after all these explanation and the people still hold that, the project must not be built, they will stop it, since Members of Parliament represents the people and must act in the will of the people.
