The Majority Caucus, through its Deputy leader, Alexander Afenyo Markin has pleaded with the striking University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) to end their strike and return to the classroom.

He said, even though, the UTAG has every right to demand better conditions of service, they should also consider the future of the students and also consider not distorting the academic calendar.

Mr. Afenyo further urged the government to consider the plea of the teachers and take the needed steps to address them.

The Deputy Majority leader further used the opportunity to commend the NDC minority for supporting the adoption of the Sputnik-V Ad-Hoc Committee’s report in Parliament today, saying, that should be the way to go as Members of Parliament so as to help develop and grow Ghana’s democracy.

In another development, the ranking member on the Health Committee and MP for Juaboso, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh has said, the minority caucus has filed a motion for a vote of censure to trigger the process for the removal of the health minister, Mr. Kwaku Agyemang Manu from office.

He said Mr. Agyeman, breached the laws of the land and also the role he played in the procurement of over-priced Russian-made SPUTNIK-V vaccines through middlemen.
