Portugal international Cristiano Ronaldo advised Man Utd against appointing Antonio Conte back in October, according to reports.

The Red Devils sacked Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November after a poor run of results with the club deciding to appoint Ralf Rangnick as interim boss until the end of the season.

Rangnick will move into a consultancy role in the summer and widespread reports now indicate that Ajax boss Erik ten Hag will take over as the new permanent Man Utd manager.

Ten Hag can fix Manchester United – but only if they let him

There were rumors that Mauricio Pochettino, Julen Lopetegui, Luis Enrique and Thomas Tuchel all had a shot at becoming the new manager at Old Trafford but it now looks like the Red Devils have found their man.
