Camidoh has announced a new version of his song “Sugarcane,” which will receive guest verses from new collaborators: Nigerian afrobeat singer Mayorkun, Nigerian-born British rapper and singer Darkoo, and Ghanaian highlife and afrobeat singer King Promise.

With over 30 million total plays across the major music streaming and discovery platforms, the Ghanaian singer-songwriter released the original version, which features Nigerian record producer, Phantom, of the hit single back in November.

This came after the record had made waves across the world: it peaked at No. 5 on the Shazam Global Afrobeats chart, No. 1 on the Top 100 Ghana on Apple Music, No. 1 on the Top 25 Accra on Apple Music, and No. 55 on the Daily Viral Songs Nigeria on Spotify. It has also charted at No. 1 on notable local radio chart shows across the country. Its video has surpassed 1.2 million views on YouTube.

In January, the exuberant Afrobeats love song with elements of highlife defied all the odds and, for the first time since its release, was ranked at # 7 on the “10 in 10 Mix” chart list by DJ Edu on the BBC’s “This is Africa” weekly show.
