Rapper Samuel Adu Frimpong known in showbiz as Medikal has been convicted by the Accra Circuit Court.

The rapper had pledged guilty to the charge of unlawful public display of arms.

According to reports, Medikal has been fined ¢3,600, and if the rapper fails to pay the fine, he will serve nine months in jail.

The Police arrested the musician for brandishing a gun in a video posted on social media in September.

He was charged for unlawful display of arms and ammunition.

Medikal had initially pleaded not guilty to the charge when he made his first appearances in court, but the court refused him bail.

The ‘Omo Ada’ rapper was remanded into police custody for five days.

When he reappeared before the court on October 26, the adjudicator granted him a ¢100,000 bail.

The case was then adjourned to January 25, 2022.

On his appearance in court after that, the Defense Counsel for Medikales prayed the Circuit Court to release the Musician’s Ruger 9mm pistol confiscated by the Police after it was displayed on social media.
