The Deputy Chairman for Defence and Interior Committee who double as the Chairman for Government Assurance Committee in Parliament, Collins Owusu Amankwah has refuted the claims and concerns raised in Parliament last Friday by the Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu on government secret recruitment into the state security agencies.

Mr Amankwah categorically stated that, the leader of the minority lied about the issues he raised on the government attempt to recruit people into the Ghana Armed forces, Ghana Police Service and the Immigration service secretly.

He said, as a leader of the minority and an astute legal practitioner (Lawyer), he should not engage himself with just rumours or hear-say but rather should have come clear with an evidence of his claims in order to prove the allegations he raised last Friday in Parliament.

Mr Collins Amankwah in an interview with Nana Ampofo Ayeh Oman Fm Parliamentary correspondent, revealed that, the various security agencies, the Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service and Immigration Service have come up with an explanation that, persons who are being called into the services in recent times are all backlogs cases who had already undergone the recruitment processes and were asked to wait until a financial clearance has been given by the Finance Ministry.

The Deputy Chairman for Defence and Interior committee urged Ghanaians and the world at large to disregard the issues raised by the Minority leader, Haruna Iddrisu in Parliament last Friday since the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo would never engage itself into any form of illegality but to right at all times according to the Constitution of Ghana.

Mr Amankwah concluded by saying, Mr Haruna’s concerns were mere propaganda and lack substance in it to be considered as an issue of importance.
