Assin Fosu base Taxi Driver, Emmanuel Yeboah, has been arrested for driving a stolen car.

The Chevrolet Matiz with registration number GC 5983-21 which had been stolen in Accra for bout three months, was impounded whilst loading passengers from Assin Fosu to Assin Akropong-Odumasi.

The owner of the car who was on board a commercial vehicle from Cape Coast to Kumasi, as part of an effort to find the missing car, spotted his vehicle in question at Assin Fosu where the alarm was blown and the driver was eventually arrested.

The Accra Mallam police, who had received complaints of the missing car in question weeks ago, have taken over the case from Assin Fosu police for further investigation.

The owner of the car, Wofa Yaw, explained to the media.

Meanwhile, the Assin Fosu District Police Commander, Chief Supt Cephas Arthur, advised car owners to do background checks of drivers before they employ them, adding that efforts are far advanced to get the other accomplice arrested.
