The Ministry of Works and Housing, says government will have to provide additional 46 million dollars for the Saglemi Housing project to become habitable.

The amount will be used to provide infrastructure such as water, electricity, and storm drains.

Minister of Works and Housing, Francis Asenso Boakye made this known during a media briefing in Accra.

According to him, there is a need to invest another 68 million dollars to complete the buildings, and other essential on-site infrastructure works. The government has already spent 196 million dollars on the project which has been stalled for seven years.

Mr. Asenso Boakye, said after careful assessment, verification and consultations, the government has decided to explore the possibility of selling the Saglemi Housing Project, covering the 1,506 housing units, at the current value to a private sector entity to complete and sell the housing units to the public, at no further cost to the State.
