The Konor of Manya Krobo traditional area, Nene Sakite II, has set up an agenda to support all the hospitals in his paramountcy through the setting up of COVID-19 EMERGENCY SUPPORT FUND which he would lead himself on Tuesday.

Nene Sakite came out with this when the Eastern regional minister, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour and the minister for Railway development, Hon Joe Ghartey called on him at his palace in solidarity and to support him in the fight against covid-19.

Briefing the honourable members on his agenda, Nene Sakite said he has embarked on awareness and education which has now gone down well with the people.He said his next agenda is to give financial support to all the hospitals in Manya Krobo and also to the senior citizens and the disabled.

He reiterated on government’s directives as the means to finally overcome this pandemic.

The eastern regional minister, Hon Eric Kwakye Darfour exhorted Nene Sakite on the program he is driving at and encouraged him to include Stigmatization. He said people seem to be ostracized when they are infected and that should be stopped.

He added that if for fear of stigma, infected people keep hiding, the situation could get out of control.

Hon Joe Ghartey presented Nene Sakite with Veronica buckets, rolls of tissue papers, detergents, sanitizers and cash. He assured the chief that his support to the fund would be sent through the deputy eastern regional minister, Hon Samuel Nuertey Aryetey who would be sent to support the campaign on Tuesday.
