The Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery says government is committed in fighting against armed robbery menace in the country.

According to him, government last year approved the recruitment of 4,000 personnel into the Ghana Police Service of which 2,000 are currently undergoing training at various centres in the country.

He indicated that,for the past eighteen months four hundred and eighty-one vehicles have been donated to the Ghana Police Service.

The Minister for Interior, Ambrose Dery, revealed that, the police administration has also stepped up it’s Intelligence Operations across the country which has resulted in the arrest of person involved in high profile robberies and crime.

The Minister was in Parliament to answer questions filed by the MP for Garu, Mr Albert Akuka Alalzuugu what measures the ministry is putting in place to reduce armed robbery in the country.
