Portugal captain, Cristiano Ronaldo has urged his teammates to continue to work hard and remain focused after beating Turkey 3-1 in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Thursday to advance one step closer.

The win over Turkey means Portugal is now one step away from sealing their ticket to Qatar, the venue to host the 2022 World Cup.

Three goals from Diogo Jota, Matheus Nunes, and Otavio Monteiro ensured Portugal defeated Turkey.

In a tweet via his Twitter handle, Ronaldo wrote: “The first step has been taken towards our great objective, towards the 2022 World Cup. Nothing is won, nothing is achieved. We have to continue to work in a serious and focused way, respecting the opponent but always believing in our abilities. Power Portugal! Go to Qatar!”

Ronaldo and his teammates will play the World Cup Qualifier final on March 30 against North Macedonia, who defeated Italy.
