A latest result from a laboratory test taken on the 71 quarantined staff of Coastal Quarries, has revealed that none had a strain of the novel coronavirus in their system. These persons are contacts of the Chinese national who tested positive for the virus some two weeks ago.

A release issued by the Western Region Minister, Hon. Kwabena Okyere-Darko Mensah said the Chinese national has also tested negative for the virus.

“Nevertheless, a second sample will be taken after the quarantine to make assurance, double sure”

The contacts and the victim have all been in quarantine at the company’s premises Anto Aboso in the Shama District since the incidence.

The Regional COVID-19 Taskforce are currently preparing these persons for the next medical protocol before discharging them.

One of the victims Ali Mohammed spoke Skyy Power FM’s Nana Gyetuah.

The Assemblyman Emmanuel Kojo Ewuwie of the area added that the community were neglected by drivers due to the suspected COVID-19 cases.
