The Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Benito Owusu-Bio has called on the British commissioner to help reforest the Achimota Forest.

After taking the Peripheral, he said there’s a need to protect the remaining portion for future generations.

Speaking during the commemoration of Quee Elizabeth II Platinum anniversary with the Green Ghana day, Hon Benito Owusu-Bio acknowledged the importance of greening the country and reiterated the government’s vision to plant some 20 million trees on coming Friday, June 10th, 2022.

He further called on all diplomats to be actively involved in the green Ghana day to help preserve the environment.

On her part, the British High Commissioner to Ghana Harriet Thompson reiterated the UK’s commitment to preserving the environment by planting trees.

According to her, there’s a need to pay much attention to afforestation which she believes will go a long way to preserve the next generation.
