The Ghana scholarship secretariat has announced that from April 1, this year, its application processes will be through an online system.
It said scholarship applicants and the general public are to note that the secretariat has migrated from the manual administration of scholarships and applications to an online system.

In a official press statement issued by the protocol unit of the scholarship secretariat, it stated categorically that the manual application of scholarship will cease to operate effective 1st April, 2020
As a result, all scholarship application should be done through the online web address, www.scholarshipgh.com

According to the scholarship secretariat, this new online application system will help increase access, ensure transparency and enhance service delivery.

According to the official statement released, all existing beneficiaries and new applicants MUST visit the web address provided above for a new scholarship application. Existing foreign scholarship beneficiaries are exempted renewing their scholarships online. They however will be given a portal to register their award details.

The scholarship secretariat has also provided hotlines for applicants to address their questions and enquiries. It maybe recalled that, the scholarship secretariat has been under the cynosure of the public in the last few weeks, as allegations of political interference in awards of Getfund scholarships.

The scholarship secretariat and the auditor general have been embroiled in accusations and counter accusations.

Recently, the Chairman of the Education Committee of Parliament and MP for Akim Oda William Agyapong Quaitoo accused the Auditor-General of playing political mischief with his auditing of the GETfund secretariat.

According to him, the public officials whose scholarships have been published deserved financial assistance they got from the secretariat.
