The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor has indicated to Parliament that the Akufo-Addo’s government is not frightened to release information on State lands to Parliament.

According to the Minister, the government has nothing to hide from Ghanaians just that, the information being requested is quite a huge kind and a lot of work has to go into it.

“It is not the case that I have difficulty or the President has difficulty or the government has difficulty in putting out the information. It is never so and I say this with all the candor I can marshall.
“I cannot be anxious about giving out this kind of information because that is going to cover President Rawlings’ time, that is going to cover President Kufour’s time, that is going to cover President Mills’ time, that is going to cover President Mahama’s time and President Akufo-Addo’s time.”

Mr Abu Jinapoh concluded that the lands commission still works manually without any form of digitalized system, so for Parliament to request information on all government lands across the nation since the beginning of Ghana’s fourth republic (from 1993 to 2022) is not going to be easy work, but he did assure the House that, his ministry would do everything possible to furnish Parliament with the information requested as soon as such information is gathered from the lands commission.

The Lands and Natural Resources Ministers came up when the MP for Nsawam Addoagyiri Frank Annor Dompreh filed a question seeking the Lands Minister to provide all information on government lands since the beginning of the fourth republic of Ghana.
