Stonebwoy had everyone on their feet for his incredibly intense diverse selection at the 2022 edition of Ghana’s most coveted Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, which included ANLOGA JUNCTION album highlights “Le Gba Gbe,” “Strength & Hope,” “Everlasting,” and his latest single “Therapy.”

The internationally acclaimed artist, revered with numerous prestigious awards made his return to the VGMAs stage during the 23rd annual ceremony on Saturday, May 7 for a showstopping performance, two years after winning big in 2019.

Known for his genius creativity and electrifying performances, he opened his set with “Le Gba Gbe” and “Strength & Hope”—which were performed by his band. He finally took charge of the stage to perform his latest single “Therapy” in its entirety, that further served as his enthralling stage debut in two years. He jumped right into “Everlasting,” a standout from the 2020 album “Anloga Junction.”

Stonebwoy boosted the energy with “Putuu” freestyle and “Activate,” his hit collaboration with Nigerian afrobeats superstar, Davido. Before leaving his set, he expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, sponsors, fans, and stakeholders for welcoming him back to the most coveted awards ceremony.

After his highly-hyped performance, Stonebwoy affirmed his return to scheme by picking up three awards. He was heralded with a “Music For Good” award for his song “Greedy Men”. According to the organizers, the song addressed societal problems and was themed on social and developmental issues.

Greedy Men was released in November of 2021. With the song, Stonebwoy spoke out against the country’s expanding peril heavily carried out by Chinese nationals, illegal mining, and also painted a realistic image of what it’s like to be a Ghanaian living in or near mining areas. After its release, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor, Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, commended Stonebwoy for speaking out against illicit gold mining in Ghana.

He was also crowned the 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards reggae and dancehall artiste of the year for the sixth time, becoming the most awarded artiste in that category.

Telecommunications Giant, Vodafone Ghana, also named him as the winner of the ‘Vodafone Green Award’. The ‘Vodafone Green Award’ was introduced by Vodafone Ghana to acknowledge and support musicians who use their crafts to drive environmental awareness and sustainability of the planet.
